Scaffold raises $15M seed for AI that coordinates homebuilding trades
Scaffold, an Austin software company using AI to coordinate trade contractors in U.S. residential construction, announced a $15 million seed round led by Navitas Capital. Investors include D.R. Horton, Pulte Homes, Builders FirstSource, Windsor America, Grid Capital, Home Technology Ventures, Stage2 Capital, and housing analyst Ivy Zelman. The company says the platform is already deployed on more than 200,000 homes across 30 states.
FINANCE desk — a same-day company primary with a disclosed $15 million seed and named homebuilder and supplier investors shows capital going into AI that stitches the systems trades already log into, not another chatbot.
Participating investors named on the same release: homebuilders D.R. Horton and Pulte Homes; Builders FirstSource; Windsor America; Grid Capital; Home Technology Ventures; Stage2 Capital; and housing analyst Ivy Zelman. The company says the investor group spans homebuilders, trade contractors, and suppliers. None was printed. Named investors are not independently confirmed customers.
Thesis, as the company tells it: trade contractors — specialty crews such as electricians and framers — work across dozens of homebuilder portals that do not share a common record, and reconciling those portals by hand costs time on every home. A portal here is each builder’s job-and-schedule website contractors log into.
Product, still company: Scaffold says it connects to the portals and platforms the industry already runs rather than replacing them, keeps one current record of every job, and automates the routine steps behind wasted trips, errors, and delays. The company says it connects to the portals of 29 of the top 30 U.S. Homebuilders.
Deployment claim, still company — attribute, do not independently verify: more than 200,000 homes across 30 states.
Founded in 2024 by Ben Johnson, founder of Spruce, and Robert Eanes, co-founder of Pingboard, the company said.
Use of funds, as the same company release has it: expand the engineering team and broaden coverage across homebuilder, contractor, and supplier systems.
Named voices on the release: Ben Johnson, co-founder and chief executive; Robert Eanes, co-founder and chief technology officer; Louis Schotsky, managing partner at Navitas Capital; Ivy Zelman, housing analyst and EVP and co-founder of Zelman & Associates; and Paul Romanowski, president and chief executive of D.R. Horton. Their quotes are color only and stay in Sources. This is not investment advice.
Plain English for the rest of the card: seed = early venture funding. Trade contractors = specialty crews such as electricians and framers. Portal = each builder’s job-and-schedule website contractors log into. Common record = one shared, current job file instead of a stack of builder sites that do not match.

On 15 Sep 2026 Scaffold announced a $15 million seed round led by Navitas Capital. Seed is early venture funding — a first institutional check, not a later growth round. The company PRIMARY is the GlobeNewswire release “Scaffold Raises $15 Million to Connect the Systems That Run Residential Construction,” dated September 15, 2026, 09:40 ET, SOURCE Scaffold, and datelined AUSTIN, Texas. The same page calls homebuilding a $500 billion industry — that size line is Scaffold’s, not a desk audit. That company release is the filing event. These are company claims.
