Agility unveils Digit 5 humanoid built to work next to people

Agility Robotics unveiled Digit 5, the next generation of its general-purpose humanoid. The company says Digit 5 is engineered for cooperatively safe work at scale — close to people without the physical safety barriers traditional industrial robots usually need — and cites more than $300 million in multi-year orders (as of May 2026, subject to milestones). Early access is expected in the first half of 2027, with broader availability by end of 2027.

A commercially deployed humanoid line is betting the next generation on sharing floors with people — safety architecture plus NVIDIA Halos — instead of staying behind cages, with named warehouse customers and a dated 2027 rollout window.

Positioning, as Agility tells it: Digit 5 is the first Agility humanoid engineered for cooperatively safe work at scale — work close to people without the traditional physical safety barriers, or cages, that industrial robots usually need.
