Huawei launches Fintelligent AI for agentic banking

At HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai, Huawei Digital Finance BU CEO Jason Cao launched the Fintelligent AI Solution worldwide for financial institutions, built around Agent Factory, Token Factory, and Data-Knowledge Factory on the open-source openJiuwen agent platform.

FINANCE desk — banks are being sold a full agent/token/data stack, not a chatbot demo; Huawei wants institutions to “own” the AI system layer.

The pitch. The keynote is titled “Owning Your AI, Advancing Agentic Banking.” Cao presented the proposition “Own Your AI, Own Your Intelligence” to global financial customers. Agentic banking, in this release, means banks running software agents that can take steps in the business, not only a chat window. He said competition in financial AI is shifting from model capability to enterprise-wide AI system capability, and that every financial institution should own its AI and keep the choice and evolution of that AI in its own hands. Truly owning your AI, in his sentence, is not using one model or deploying a few applications. It means being able to choose independently, operate securely, replicate at scale, and continuously evolve. File that pitch as his, on Huawei’s page.

What the product is. Huawei says the solution focuses on security, scalability, and sustainability for large-scale AI in finance. It is built on openJiuwen, which the page calls a financial-grade open-source agent platform, and on open compute infrastructure — computing gear the bank can run, not only a rented chat box. Through three “intelligent factories” — Agent Factory, Token Factory, and Data-Knowledge Factory — Huawei says a bank can keep building its enterprise AI architecture, a one-stop agent foundation, banking-domain intelligence, and full-lifecycle Token operations, and move toward what the release calls Agentic Finance. Together, Huawei says, the three factories connect data, knowledge, Tokens, and agent capabilities. File that frame as Huawei’s. This desk did not install the stack.

Agent Factory. Huawei says it scales AI into an enterprise-wide capability. The job, on the page, is helping banks build, run, and manage agents at scale, so AI moves from isolated applications to enterprise-wide intelligence, and so agent assets can be accumulated, reused, and managed in one place. An agent, here, is software that can carry out a task, not only answer a question. An asset, in that sentence, is an agent the bank can keep and reuse. File that job as Huawei’s.

openJiuwen. Huawei describes it as an open-source agent platform for multi-agent collaboration, with enterprise-grade reliability. Multi-agent means more than one agent working together. Built on what Huawei calls a financial-grade production kernel — the core that is supposed to keep agents running in a live bank, not a lab demo — it lists three capabilities: stable long-running operations, financial-grade components, and one-stop development and operations. Development and operations, often shortened to DevOps, means the tools to build an agent and keep it running. Huawei says institutions build, run, manage, and govern agents on the same platform. Govern, here, means set the rules for what an agent may do. The page also says the platform has compute affinity, Huawei’s phrase for sitting close to the computers it runs on. File that description as Huawei’s. This filing does not review the source code.

Token Factory and TokeNexus. A token, in this release, is the unit of model work a bank consumes when an agent reads or writes. Huawei says Token Factory is about a better price-performance ratio — more of that work for the money — and sustainable full-lifecycle Token management. At the summit Huawei launched TokeNexus, a full-lifecycle Token operations solution covering Token planning, efficient production, intelligent scheduling, and global optimization. Planning is deciding how much work the bank will need. Production is creating that capacity. Scheduling is deciding which job runs when. Optimization is tuning the mix. Huawei says end-to-end governance lets institutions scale AI while keeping costs controllable, performance reliable, and supply sustainable. Those cost and reliability lines are Huawei’s claims. This desk did not see a price sheet.

Data-Knowledge Factory, the data solution, and the coding solution. Huawei says the Data-Knowledge Factory turns bank data, documents, and rules into knowledge that agents can understand, trust, and invoke, and accumulates that into each bank’s own Domain Intelligence. Domain intelligence, here, means the bank’s own body of usable knowledge, not a general chatbot. Huawei also launched a Financial Agentic Data Solution, centered on data and knowledge pipelines, so high-value data and knowledge can keep flowing to agents. A pipeline, here, is the path that data takes from the bank’s files to the agent. The AI Coding Solution, Huawei says, uses an ontology-centric approach — a structured map of what the business means — to turn business rules hidden in old system code into reusable knowledge assets that AI can understand and use, and to speed what the page calls core modernization. Core modernization means updating the old systems a bank still runs on. File those three as Huawei’s. This desk did not read a bank’s old code.

The customer count, labeled. Huawei says it has been in the financial industry for 16 years and has served more than 7,100 financial customers across more than 80 countries and regions, including 54 of the world’s top 100 banks. More than 7,100 is a customer count. More than 80 is a country count. 54 of 100 is Huawei’s share of a ranking it does not print the source of on this page. That whole sentence is Huawei’s self-description. This desk did not audit the list. The same page says Huawei and partners from banking, insurance, and securities unveiled the 2026 Huawei Global Financial Lighthouse, highlighting nine lighthouse practices — reference cases Huawei is pointing to. File the nine as Huawei’s count. This desk did not review the nine cases.

Do not read this as a signed contract or a scoreboard. The release does not print a customer contract value, a model benchmark, or an export-control ruling. A worldwide launch is Huawei’s wording for the announcement. It is not a list of banks that have bought the stack, and it is not a chip shipment. Do not turn “own your AI” into a claim this desk has checked inside a bank.

Plain English for the rest of the card: HUAWEI CONNECT = Huawei’s customer conference in Shanghai. Digital Finance BU = the business unit that sells to banks. agent = software that can carry out a task, not only chat. agentic banking / Agentic Finance = Huawei’s name for banks running those agents in the business. openJiuwen = the open-source agent platform named in the release. production kernel = the core Huawei says keeps agents running in a live bank. DevOps = the tools to build an agent and keep it running. token = the unit of model work a bank consumes. TokeNexus = Huawei’s product for planning, producing, scheduling, and tuning that work. Domain Intelligence = a bank’s own usable knowledge, in Huawei’s phrase. ontology = a structured map of what the business means. lighthouse practice = a reference case Huawei is pointing to. This filing is the 21 Sep product launch. It is not a contract and not a benchmark.

PRIMARY here: Huawei’s 21 Sep 2026 PR Newswire release, “Huawei Launches Fintelligent AI Solution to Help Global Financial Institutions Realize ‘Own Your AI, Own Your Intelligence’” — Tier A PRIMARY, the company’s own record. The Global Finance Summit, the worldwide launch, Cao’s “Own Your AI, Own Your Intelligence” pitch, the three factories, openJiuwen’s financial-grade production kernel and one-stop development and operations, TokeNexus’s planning, production, scheduling, and optimization, the Financial Agentic Data Solution, the AI Coding Solution that turns legacy rules into agent-usable knowledge, the nine lighthouse practices, and the 16-year / 7,100+ / 80+ / 54-of-top-100 line are Huawei-attributed. NOT claimed: a customer contract value, a model benchmark, an export-control ruling, a named bank that has bought the stack, that this desk sat in the hall or installed the software, a stock tip, or investment advice. Distinct from the already-filed hg-anthropic-agentic, softbank-openai-bonds, big-tech-ai-300bn-guarantees, and huawei-ascend-960-supernode.
