Sentra raises $150 million, led by Capital One Ventures, to control what AI agents can reach

Sentra said on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, that Capital One Ventures led a $150 million strategic investment in the company, a Series C, to expand its "agentic data security" platform that maps and restricts which people, service accounts and AI agents can reach sensitive corporate data.

Every AI agent a company deploys is a new user with keys to the building, and most of them inherit whatever access the last person had. Sentra's pitch is unglamorous and probably right: you can't chase every agent request, so clean up and fence off the data first. A bank's venture arm leading the round says a lot about who is losing sleep over this.

Capital One Ventures led a $150 million strategic investment in Sentra. Sentra calls the round its Series C. A Series C is a later venture round, once a company already has a product in the market. Existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Zeev Ventures, Standard Investments, Munich Re Ventures, and Key1 Capital also took part. A Capital One representative will join Sentra's board. Those lines are Sentra's.

Sentra says the investment follows a year of more than 300% year-over-year growth. Year-over-year means measured against the same stretch a year earlier. Ynetnews reports that the round brings Sentra's total funding to more than $250 million. Total funding is the money raised across the company's life. That figure is Ynetnews's. The growth line is Sentra's.

Sentra protects data at rest. That is the files and records sitting in storage, rather than traffic moving across a network. It finds and classifies sensitive data across the cloud, SaaS, data warehouses, on-premises file shares, and the knowledge stores AI draws from. SaaS is software a company rents over the internet. A data warehouse is a store built so people can analyze what is in it. Sentra maps what people, service accounts, and AI agents can reach, including inherited access. Inherited access is permission an account picks up from a group or a role, rather than a grant written for that account alone. Those lines are Sentra's.

It enforces least privilege for non-human identities. Least privilege means each account gets only the access its job needs. Non-human identities are the logins that are not a person: service accounts and AI agents. Sentra removes redundant, obsolete, and high-risk data, flags unusual access to sensitive data, and can automatically revoke access and remove risky sharing. Those lines are Sentra's.

The money goes to agentic data-security features and to scaling field and channel sales, marketing, and new geographies. Agentic, as Sentra uses it, means the product is built for AI agents that go get data, not only for a person clicking through a dashboard. Those lines are Sentra's.

Sentra was founded in 2021 by chief executive Yoav Regev, president Asaf Kochan, chief technology officer Ron Reiter, and vice president of product Yair Cohen. Ynetnews reports that Regev previously headed the cyber department of the Israel Defense Forces' Unit 8200, and that Kochan is a former Unit 8200 commander. Unit 8200 is the Israeli military's signals-intelligence unit. The founding year and the four roles are Sentra's. The Unit 8200 lines are Ynetnews's.

Yoav Regev, co-founder and chief executive, said: "AI agents are now the busiest consumers of enterprise data, and many of them inherit access to data that hasn't been fully classified or governed." He also said: "Traditional perimeter controls weren't built for agents moving at machine speed." A perimeter control is a wall around a network, built for people logging in. Those quotations are his.

In plain terms, Capital One Ventures led a $150 million Series C for software that finds sensitive company data and limits which people, service accounts, and AI agents can open it. Sentra's bet is to fence the data first. Ynetnews puts lifetime funding above $250 million, and Sentra says the past year grew more than 300%.
