TSMC’s August revenue jumps 53% to a record

TSMC posted record August consolidated revenue of NT$514.8 billion, up 53.3% from a year earlier.

The factory that makes most advanced AI chips just posted another record month. That is a money fact. The mix between AI servers and phones is analysis on top.

TSMC’s financial calendar listed “TSMC Monthly Sales — August 2026.” TSMC is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the factory that makes most advanced AI chips. CNBC and Focus Taiwan reported record August consolidated revenue of NT$514.8 billion — New Taiwan dollars, the company’s reporting currency. That is up 53.3% from a year earlier and 10.1% from July: more than half again last August’s sales, and about a tenth above the prior month.

The same reports put January–August 2026 revenue at about NT$3.387 trillion, up 39.3% from a year earlier. That is the eight-month total, not the August month alone.

CNBC: TSMC said on its July earnings call that AI-related demand remained “extremely robust.” TrendForce, a market researcher cited by CNBC, said advanced 5-, 4-, and 3-nanometer capacity — the finest production lines, measured in billionths of a meter — was fully booked in the second quarter.

Focus Taiwan: analysts also tied the August sales figure to new smartphone launches, not AI alone.
