Apple Creator Studio adds AI assistants to Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Logic Pro — and opens the apps to outside AI agents
Apple said Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, that Apple Creator Studio is getting intelligent assistants in Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Logic Pro, plus MCP support for external AI agents, as a free update for subscribers in November.
Where to buy
The assistants are the expected part — every office suite now has a chatbot in the sidebar. The MCP support and the open .keyx format are the surprise: Apple is letting other companies' AI agents reach into Keynote, Pages and Numbers and do the work, which is a very un-Apple amount of openness. Apple's own press image shows ChatGPT, not Siri, summarizing a Keynote deck. That's either a confident platform bet or a quiet admission that the best agent on your Mac might not be Apple's. At $12.99 a month, it's also Apple's clearest pitch yet that AI features are something you subscribe to, not something that comes with the laptop.
Apple said on Oct. 27, 2026, that Apple Creator Studio is getting intelligent assistants in Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Logic Pro, plus a way for outside AI tools to work in the first three. The update is free for people who already subscribe, and it arrives in November. That timing is Apple's, from its Newsroom post.
The assistant in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers is built on Apple's models and on OpenAI, and it understands the document in front of it. In Keynote it helps design, animate, and refine slides. In Pages it drafts and restructures text. In Numbers it calculates, visualizes, and organizes data, recommends chart types with a one-tap preview, and builds tables using world knowledge. World knowledge means facts the model already knows, not only the numbers already typed into the sheet. Those jobs are Apple's.
New MCP support lets external AI agents and tools read the content, make edits, and run automated actions directly in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. MCP is the Model Context Protocol, a shared plug so a tool such as ChatGPT can work on the file instead of only talking about it. Keynote also adds the Keynote Interchange Format, a file ending in .keyx. It is an open format written as JSON, the plain-text structure other programs already trade. Apple says external tools and AI agents can read a .keyx file. Those lines are Apple's.
Logic Pro for Mac gets an intelligent assistant in beta, powered by a combination of models Apple built and models from other companies. Beta means it is still a test version. From one prompt it can start a song, set up a vocal track, or refine a project. The update also brings a redesigned Browser that understands music on the device, a Stem Splitter that now separates drums, a Liquid Glass redesign, and a Sergio George Producer Pack. A stem is one separated piece of a recording, such as the drums on their own. Those pieces are Apple's.
Final Cut Pro for Mac now includes built-in MotionVFX effects, plug-ins, transitions, templates, and tools for rotoscoping, tracking, and color grading. Rotoscoping is cutting a person or an object out of a shot so you can treat it on its own. The update also adds Content Hub video assets, round-trip editing in Pixelmator Pro, text-to-image generation, and 23 new transcription languages. Round-trip means a frame can go to Pixelmator Pro, get edited, and come back. Those additions are Apple's.
Pixelmator Pro adds Generate Fill. Circle an area and describe the change. Apple says the fill matches the lighting, the perspective, and the texture around it. That description is Apple's.
Existing subscribers get the update free from the App Store in November. New subscribers in the U.S. pay $12.99 a month or $129 a year, with a one-month free trial. A new Mac, or a qualifying iPad, comes with three months free. Education pricing is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Family Sharing covers up to six people. Those prices are Apple's.
The picture is a MacBook Pro on a black background. Keynote is open to a pitch deck, on a slide titled Launch Timeline. Beside it, a ChatGPT window titled "Summarize open Keynote presentation" is summarizing that deck. Apple published the image as an example of the new MCP support. The credit is Apple.
In plain terms, Apple said on Tuesday that the November Creator Studio update puts an assistant in Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Logic Pro, and lets outside agents edit the office apps through MCP. Final Cut Pro picks up MotionVFX. Pixelmator Pro gets a fill you describe in words. People who already pay get it free. New subscribers pay $12.99 a month or $129 a year.
