Insilico launches AI Longevity Vaccines research for age-related disease
Insilico Medicine said it launched Longevity Vaccines, a research initiative that uses generative AI and programmable RNA medicine to design single-administration, self-limiting in vivo cell therapies meant to eliminate early cellular drivers of age-related disease.
Same-day HEALTH primary that an AI drug-discovery company is launching a preventive cell-therapy research program aimed at aging biology — a discrete initiative with a named platform and a first focus on immune-system rejuvenation. This is a research launch, not a proven patient result.
Goal, still company — research aim, not a proven outcome: develop programmable, self-limiting preventive treatments that eliminate early cellular drivers of age-related disease. Programmable here means the same delivery shell can be retargeted at different cell types. Self-limiting means the instruction is meant to fade, not stay on forever.
Approach, company: the program uses generative AI — software that designs new molecules and genetic constructs — and programmable RNA medicine to design single-administration, self-limiting in vivo cell therapies. In vivo means the work happens inside the patient’s body, not in a dish and not as a separately manufactured cell product.
Targets, still company: the approach is powered by Pharma.AI and aging foundation models. It is aimed at senescent, fibrotic, and autoreactive cells, starting with immune-system rejuvenation. Senescent cells are worn-out cells that can keep sending inflammation signals. Fibrotic cells help scar tissue build up. Autoreactive cells are immune cells that attack the body’s own tissue.
Delivery chassis, company: a short-lived genetic instruction encoded in circular mRNA, or cmRNA, and packaged in a targeted lipid nanoparticle, or LNP. Inside the body, the company says, that package is meant to arm a patient’s own T cells — the immune cells that can kill marked targets — to recognize and remove specific cell populations. Circular mRNA is a loop of messenger-RNA instructions that lasts longer than ordinary linear mRNA but is still meant to shut off. An LNP is a fat-based delivery shell.
Antigen and target selection, still company: the Pharma.AI stack named on the page includes PandaOmics for multi-omics target discovery, generative biologics for new binder design, Chemistry42 for lipids and delivery chemistry, and inClinico for AI-assisted trial design, plus aging foundation models and Virtual Aging Cell. An antigen here is a surface marker the T cells would be taught to recognize. How the stack is wired stays in Sources.
Strategy shift, company: Longevity Vaccines expands Insilico’s dual-purpose, aging-oriented discovery strategy from small-molecule drugs into RNA-encoded in vivo cell engineering. Dual-purpose, as the company uses it, means a program meant to hit both a named disease and a deeper aging process.
First indication focus, still company: rejuvenation of the aging immune system — immunosenescence, meaning the immune system wearing down with age — by targeting senescent lymphocytes. Additional indications under evaluation, the company says, include metabolic dysfunction and membranous nephropathy, a kidney disease driven by the immune system attacking a kidney filter.
Prior-program context, company — not the new product: Insilico cites Rentosertib (ISM001-055), an AI-designed small molecule now in Phase III for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, or IPF, a scarring lung disease, as the foundation for that dual-purpose strategy. File Rentosertib’s Phase III IPF status as Insilico’s.
Optional company finance color, one line only: Insilico also printed first-half 2026 revenue of about $106 million on the same page. This filing is the research initiative, not an earnings card.
Plain English for the rest of the card: generative AI = software that designs new molecules or genetic constructs. Senescent cells = worn-out cells that can drive inflammation. cmRNA = circular messenger RNA, a loop of genetic instructions. LNP = lipid nanoparticle, a fat-based delivery shell. Immunosenescence = aging of the immune system. In vivo = inside the body. T cells = immune cells that can kill marked targets. Antigen = a surface marker those T cells would be taught to recognize. IPF = idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a scarring lung disease.
