RobotPlusPlus raises Series C to scale working-at-height industrial robots
Beijing-based RobotPlusPlus (ROBOT++) said it closed a Series C worth hundreds of millions of RMB — described as tens of millions of USD — led by Qianggang Capital Fund. The company builds robots that take people off scaffolding and other hazardous structures at shipyards, oil-and-gas sites, wind farms, and building facades, and says the new capital will fund global expansion and embodied AI development.
Same-day HARDWARE primary that a working-at-height robotics firm closed a Qianggang-led Series C — hundreds of millions of RMB, tens of millions of USD on the company wire — to push already-deployed industrial robots and embodied AI into more shipyards and high-risk sites worldwide.
RobotPlusPlus, also styled ROBOT++, announced a Series C via GlobeNewswire on 15 Sep 2026. The Beijing company said the round is worth hundreds of millions of RMB — China’s currency — and described that as tens of millions of USD. Series C is a later growth venture round, after seed, Series A, and Series B. The release is datelined BEIJING, Sept. 15, 2026, and this desk read the full company text on the COMTEX / TradingCharts redistributor. That company PRIMARY via GlobeNewswire is the filing event. These are company claims.
The round was led by Qianggang Capital Fund, the company said, joined by GIG Capital Group, Sealand Innovation, and Juntong Capital. Fosun RZ Capital increased its stake. The company wire does not print one.
Use of proceeds, as the same wire has it: accelerate global expansion and embodied AI development. Embodied AI here means AI that runs on physical robots in the real world, not a chatbot on a screen.
Mission framing, still company: take humans out of dangerous working-at-height work — jobs on scaffolding, hulls, towers, and facades — across shipyards, oil-and-gas facilities, wind farms, and building facades, so professionals shift to supervision and decision-making.
Deployment claims, company — attribute, do not independently verify: hull derusting robots at more than 100 shipyards; market share above 70%; worked on over 10,000 cargo vessels; efficiency five to six times versus manual methods; overall cost cut 30% to 50% versus manual methods.
Footprint, still company: operates in more than 18 countries. Customers and partners named include NOSCO Shipyard, Drydocks World, ST Engineering Marine, Saudi Aramco, and Vopak.
R&D claims, company: more than 60% of its workforce is in R&D; R&D investment above 20% of revenue for three consecutive years; robots have accumulated over 2 million operating hours, which the company says generates real-world data for vertical AI models in complex industrial environments.
Named voices on the release: Dr. Hua-Yang Xu, founder and chief executive of RobotPlusPlus; Zhang Zhenming, general manager of Qianggang Capital Fund; and Jin Hualong, chairman of Fosun RZ Capital. Their quotes are color only and stay in Sources. This is not investment advice.
Plain English for the rest of the card: Series C = later growth venture funding after seed, Series A, and Series B. RMB = China’s currency. Embodied AI = AI that runs on physical robots in the real world. Working-at-height = jobs on scaffolding, hulls, towers, and facades.
