The White House setting, the scheduling conflict, and the “first meeting” line are that earlier account. They are not quotations from Trump’s Fox News interview. CNBC says the relationship has been strained for much of the past year, including Amodei’s public call to slow advanced AI and the Pentagon’s supply-chain label on the company.
