Medallion buys Andros to scale AI-assisted provider credentialing
Medallion said it acquired Andros, an NCQA-certified credentials verification organization, to expand AI-assisted provider credentialing and enrollment. The companies say the deal brings more than a million providers across nearly 400 healthcare organizations and health plans onto one credentialing platform. Deal terms were not disclosed.
Same-day HEALTH primary that an AI-assisted credentialing platform bought an established verification org, consolidating admin infrastructure that decides whether clinicians can practice and get paid.
Medallion, which calls itself an AI-assisted credentialing and enrollment platform with expert oversight, announced it acquired Andros via PR Newswire on 15 Sep 2026. The release is titled “Medallion Acquires Andros to Expand AI-Native Credentialing Across Health Plans and Provider Organizations,” dated Sep 15, 2026, 09:03 ET, and datelined SAN FRANCISCO. Credentialing is the check on a clinician’s licenses and training before they can practice or bill. Enrollment is getting that clinician onto payer and insurance networks. That company PRIMARY via PR Newswire is the filing event. These are company claims. This desk did not see a purchase agreement.
Andros, as the same wire has it: an NCQA-certified credentials verification organization that has credentialed providers for health plans, health systems, provider groups, and telehealth companies since 2013. NCQA is the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the U.S. body that sets credentialing standards. A credentials verification organization, or CVO, is a firm that checks those licenses and training records for the organizations that hire or network clinicians. File the NCQA certification, the 2013 start, and those customer types as the company’s. This desk did not audit Andros’s files.
Combined footprint, still company: the deal brings over a million providers across nearly 400 healthcare organizations and health plans onto a single credentialing platform. File “over a million” and “nearly 400” as Medallion’s. This desk did not count providers or contracts.
Strategy, as Medallion tells it: bring credentialing, enrollment, licensing, and provider data management onto one system for every organization that touches a provider record. The company calls itself AI-assisted credentialing and enrollment with expert oversight, and uses “AI-native” on the same wire. The release also says the acquisition makes Medallion “the largest AI-native credentialing platform in the country.” File that one-system strategy and that “largest” line as the company’s claim — not as an independent rank this desk can certify. This desk did not survey the market.
What Andros customers gain over time, still company: automated primary source collection, AI agents that handle provider outreach and follow-up, real-time status tracking, and credentialing specialists Medallion embeds alongside its automation. Primary source collection means pulling licenses and training records from the original issuer, not from a résumé copy. File that access list as Medallion’s. This desk did not watch a customer cutover.
Who Medallion says it will keep serving: health plans, health systems, provider groups, digital health companies, and telehealth organizations, spanning credentialing, payer enrollment, licensing, and provider data management. File that customer list as the company’s.
Named voices on the release: Derek Lo, founder and chief executive of Medallion; and Jake Hirschfeld, vice president of sales at Andros. File the names and titles as the company’s. Their quotes are color only and stay in Sources.
Advisor and terms, company: Bailey & Company served as the exclusive financial advisor to Andros. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This desk is not inventing a price, a valuation, or a headcount. None was printed.
Plain English for the rest of the card: credentialing = checking a clinician’s licenses and training before they can practice or bill. enrollment = getting providers onto payer and insurance networks. NCQA = National Committee for Quality Assurance, the credentialing standards body. CVO = credentials verification organization, a firm that runs those checks. primary source collection = pulling records from the original issuer.
PRIMARY here: Medallion’s 15 Sep 2026 PR Newswire company release — Tier A company source, the original record. The company site is product-home context, not a second originating newsroom. The Andros acquisition, the NCQA-certified CVO / 2013 / customer-type lines, the over-a-million / nearly-400 footprint, the one-system credentialing-enrollment-licensing-data strategy, the “largest AI-native” line, the Andros-customer access list, the Lo and Hirschfeld titles, the Bailey & Company advisor role, and the undisclosed terms are company-attributed. Superlatives and capability claims stay company-attributed. NOT claimed: a price, a valuation, headcount, an independent “largest” rank, independently verified provider counts, that this desk reviewed a purchase agreement, a stock tip, or investment advice. Distinct from the already-filed hello-patient-acquires-converse, evvy-40m-series-b, and powerful-medical-queen-of-hearts-fda-de-novo.
