Meta launches Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Gen 3 AI glasses; Muse comes to glasses
At Meta Connect, Meta introduced Ray-Ban Meta Audio — its first camera-free audio AI glasses — plus Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) and confirmed Muse, its personal AI agent, is coming to Meta AI glasses for hands-free tasks and goals.
HARDWARE desk — Meta’s answer to “creepy camera glasses” is a camera-free Audio pair, while Gen 3 and Muse-on-glasses push everyday wearables toward full personal agents you talk to all day.
What the page says about Muse on the glasses. The takeaway says Meta is bringing Muse, a personal AI agent, to its AI glasses. A personal AI agent, here, is software that can take a series of steps for you — tasks, goals, a plan — not only answer one question. The page says the glasses should help you stay on top of things, take tasks off your plate, and turn long-term goals into action plans, all hands-free. A later paragraph says a connection to that agent offers more ways to manage daily life, whether you are building healthy habits or navigating a busy calendar, without reaching for your phone. Hands-free means you talk to the glasses instead of unlocking a phone. Bringing, and a connection, are the page’s tense. This is not a sentence that Muse is already running on every pair a store can sell today. The page does not print a date when Muse turns on inside the glasses. Do not invent one.
Ray-Ban Meta Audio, as the page describes it. Meta calls them its first-ever audio glasses, and the lightest and slimmest AI glasses it has made. Audio, it says, has been the most popular feature since day one, because the glasses give high-quality sound without closing you off from the world around you. The pair packs earbuds and an AI assistant into the frame. The weight on the page is 43 grams. That is light enough, Meta says, to wear all day. The fit parts it names are professional-adjustable temple tips, adjustable or swappable nose pads, and overextension hinges. Temple tips are the ends of the arms that sit over the ears. A nose pad is the small rest on the bridge of the nose. You can listen to music and podcasts, take calls the page says capture your voice more clearly than earbuds, and talk to the AI assistant hands-free. Battery, as stated: up to 12 hours on a single charge, and up to 48 more hours from the charging case that comes in the box. Twelve hours is a long day of wear, if that claim holds. Forty-eight hours from the case is four times the glasses’ own charge, if that claim holds. This desk did not wear a pair or time a battery.
Styles, lenses, and the Audio price. The page says 23 color and lens combinations across two new styles. Clubmaster is the retro-inspired shape. Burbank is a classic rectangle. Both work with a wide range of optical prescriptions. A prescription, here, is the lens strength an eye doctor writes, so the glasses can be your normal glasses and not only a gadget you wear over them. You can pre-order today starting at $349 USD. They ship October 13. Pre-order means you reserve the pair now. Ship means that is the date Meta gives for sending them. $349 is the starting price. The page does not print a top price. Do not invent one.
What the Audio section does not list. It lists sound, calls, and the hands-free assistant. It does not list a camera, a megapixel count, or a recording light. The Gen 3 section on the same page does list a camera. This desk reads Ray-Ban Meta Audio as the camera-free pair: smart glasses with sound and AI, and no camera in the spec Meta printed. The page itself does not use the words no camera. File the reading with this desk, and the missing camera line with the page.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), as the page describes it. Meta calls it the next generation of the world’s best-selling AI glasses. Best-selling is Meta’s claim. This desk did not audit sales. The design is slimmer and, Meta says, more comfortable, with the features wearers already use. Battery is up to nine hours, which the page says is an hour more than Gen 2. Nine hours is a workday plus a commute, if that claim holds. The extra hour is Meta’s comparison with Gen 2, not a clock this desk timed. A new action button can be customized and opens Meta AI. A 6-microphone array cuts more than 90 percent of background noise, so calls and voice commands stay clear on a windy or crowded street. More than 90 percent means more than nine tenths of that noise, if the claim holds. This desk did not measure a street. The camera is 12 megapixels. A megapixel is a million points of detail in a photo. Video is 3K Ultra HD, a high-detail video setting. Dynamic photos let you pick the best frame after the shot, so one press can still yield a picture you want to keep. As with every generation, a small LED light tells people nearby when you are taking a photo or video. LED means a tiny lamp on the frame. These lines are Meta’s. This desk did not record a clip.
Choice and price on Gen 3. The page says 27 color and lens combinations across three styles: Aviator, Zena, and Wayfarer. Zena is a bold new cat-eye frame. A cat-eye frame sweeps up at the outer corners. To mark the 90th anniversary of the Ray-Ban Aviator, Meta is releasing a limited-edition Aviator in a vintage-inspired colorway. The page also names professional-adjustable temple tips for a better fit. Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) is available today, starting at $449 USD. Available today is a different clock from Audio’s October 13 ship date. $449 is the starting price. The page does not print a top price.
A later feature, still Meta’s sentence, and not today’s ship. Later this year, Meta says, Meta AI glasses will be the first consumer devices that let a person capture and play video in Dolby Atmos with 360-degree spatial sound. Dolby Atmos is a surround-sound format. 360-degree spatial sound means the audio sits around the listener, not only in the left and right ear. First consumer devices is Meta’s claim. This desk did not survey every gadget on sale. Later this year is not a day. The page says you record and the glasses handle the rest, so playback feels as immersive as being there. Immersive, here, is Meta’s word for sound that feels like the place you filmed. Do not read this as a feature that is on the glasses today.
The wider menu, and whose sentence is whose. By the end of the year, Meta says it will offer more than 100 glasses options across Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta Glasses, including lightweight frames for all-day wear and new styles with slimmer designs and longer battery life. More than 100 is a three-digit menu, if that claim holds. The page also says regular software updates, new AI features, and a growing set of apps will keep the glasses changing after you buy them. Meta Glasses, the collection launched earlier this year with EssilorLuxottica, is adding two styles, Capri and Nova. A new Kylie Jenner colorway, Ivory, is a fresh take on her Starfire style, starting at $399 USD. A new collection with LISA, the page’s phrase for the international icon, puts a custom star on the case and the frames, case charms inspired by LISA’s pets, and digital photocards you unlock with the glasses. Two styles: the Meta Adventurer LISA Edition, a Moonlit Sky frame with Blush lenses, and the Meta Capri LISA Edition, an Eclipse cat-eye frame with grey lenses. Both support prescriptions and start at $399 USD. A limited-edition Meta Fury, clear frame and mirrored lenses, will be available only at Connect and at Meta Labs at launch. A new Meta Adventurer, black frame and grey lenses, with a plug-in case, starts at $249 USD. The page calls that the most affordable pair of Meta Glasses yet, and the most accessible price yet. It is available to pre-order today on Meta.com and goes on sale October 23 in every country where Meta Glasses are sold. Any pair of Meta Glasses can be customized in the Mix & Match program: pick the frame, the lenses, and the case color at a Meta Lab or online. These lines are the page’s. This desk did not price-check a store.
Where the new countries apply. The page says Meta Glasses are coming to new countries, starting today in Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates, and coming soon to Brazil. A footnote on the same page says Oakley Meta, Ray-Ban Meta, and Ray-Ban Meta Optics will be available later this year in Turkey, Poland, Portugal, Israel, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia, and the Philippines. That footnote is a later list, and it names Ray-Ban Meta, not the four countries that start today. Do not read Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, or the UAE as a same-day Ray-Ban Meta Audio launch. File today’s four countries, and Brazil, as the Meta Glasses expansion. File the longer country list as the footnote’s later window for Oakley Meta, Ray-Ban Meta, and Ray-Ban Meta Optics.
Plain English for the rest of the card. Audio glasses means smart glasses without a camera in the spec Meta printed: sound and an AI assistant, not a lens that films. Muse is Meta’s personal AI agent. An agent takes steps for you, not only a chat reply. Hands-free means you talk to the glasses. Connect is Meta’s product event. EssilorLuxottica is the Ray-Ban partner. 43 grams is the Audio weight. 12 hours is the Audio charge. 48 hours is the case. $349 is the Audio starting price. October 13 is the Audio ship date. Gen 3 is the next Ray-Ban Meta with a camera. Nine hours is its battery, one hour more than Gen 2, as Meta states it. $449 is the Gen 3 starting price, and the page says it is available today. 12 megapixels is the Gen 3 camera. 3K is the video setting. The LED is the recording light. More than 90 percent is the noise claim for the six microphones. Dolby Atmos is surround sound, later this year, and first consumer devices is Meta’s claim. $399 is the LISA and Ivory starting price. $249 is the new Meta Adventurer. October 23 is that pair’s on-sale date. More than 100 is the year-end menu across Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Meta Glasses. A prescription is the lens an eye doctor writes.

The camera-free reading is this desk’s, from an Audio section that does not list a camera. NOT claimed: a Muse-on-glasses on-sale date, a top price above the starting prices, that this desk wore a pair, timed a battery, or measured street noise, that Audio’s missing camera line is the words no camera printed on the page, that Singapore, South Korea, Mexico, or the UAE are a same-day Ray-Ban Meta Audio launch, that Dolby Atmos is on the glasses today, a stock tip, or investment advice.
